Interesting posts on this subject. Yes from time to time we WILL jump into the 80's and grab a song, or even a countdown from '80 itself. Funny thing about the 80's. 1981-82 were real bland times in the record industry...a malaise which may have sown a seed or two for the emergence of rap...which in my humble opinion will never be the oldies of the future, because oldies by their very nature are designed to evoke happy and nostalgic feelings, which is contrary to rap's basis for existing in the first place. When we play songs from the early 80's, they usually tie in with the 70's...either in style, era, or artist connection. Otherwise, it's the 50's, 60's and 70's fer sure, fer sure!
