...for putting on my latest Oh Wow selections, Bob. I already own the 45 versions of several, but it feels good to finally let someone else besides me listen to them. The obscure Bobby Goldsboro one I don't have, and it hasn't appeared on YouTube yet either. Until this week I never heard it at all in 41 years, so yours truly derived a particular satisfaction from breaking that drought. I'm preparing an Oh Wows Volume 4, which will be sure to feature a lot of "new oldies." Not all of them are proven favorites of mine, but I'm focusing more on picking records that didn't make the Top 40 and I like to challenge people to see if they too remember any of them--in other words, trying to appeal to the brain as well as emotionally. But I don't want to get so obscure that I start presenting a lot of "Bubbling under the Hot 100" stuff that virtually nobody would recall even if they tried. A few singles like that is OK with me, though. How are you coping? At least you knew your mom was in big trouble health-wise for quite a while. When my father died almost 10 years ago, it was a shock to the whole family. He had been ill but no one, not even his doctors, imagined it was life-threatening. And then one August night he walked into the hospital for some routine tests, and an hour later became violently sick and he was gone. Heart attack, but it was caused by at least three or four other things he'd been suffering from for a year or more. Keep your dial glued to where it is, babycakes! There's much more music comin' up for you guys and gals at the top of the hour. Just what hour it is is something the rest of you are gonna have to find out! hehhehhehhehheh Jeff |
