Thanks Nanci. Paul and Charlie are Irish songwriters, with an understanding of, and an appreciation of, the past, while remaining firmly achored in the present. Their biggest Irish (and European) hit to date was "Rock & Roll Kids", which went on to win the Eurovision in 1994. The words of that song prove my point.... ROCK & ROLL KIDS I remember '62 We were the Rock 'n' Roll Kids Now Johnny's in love with the girl next door, We were the Rock 'n' Roll Kids I was yours and you were mine We just never seem to Rock and Roll anymore. There is no reason for anybody (let alone Bobbv Rydell fans) to be in a snit - these guys know where it's at now, and where it was then, and they appreciate both viewpoints. |
