Amen, Jim!

New story:

When CD players became popular and affordable, I gave one a try. I bought a Doobie(s?) Brothers CD and an Elton John CD. After I heard lots of tape hiss on the Elton John CD, I packed up the player and took it back for a refund. The salesperson thought I was crazy, since this new technology was superior to the past. Sure, maybe it was, but Record Companies would master with spent tapes, with a note about the past technology, to cover their behinds. Vinyl records, then, still sounded better than Audio CDs, especially with vintage material. There was nothing better, in my mind, than a white label promotional LP. Felt they had the best sound, due to limited pressings. I still enjoy collecting, but CDs don't provide the same pride of ownership, since they never existed in the past, when the music we enjoy was most popular. Not a piece of history, you might say.

Anyway, have to run, Jim! Have a great day!

Best,
John
