I estimated (book value) my LP and 45 collection was worth $10,000 USD. I needed to sell it, fast, and made only $500!

Jim's reply is...

I think you have to sell individually - one by one. You get ripped off when you sell in collections.

In 1989, I went to Waterford (small town in Ireland) to but a radio station LP collection. They had failed to get the new licence.

We paid IR£9,000 (about $13,000 in those days) for 11,000 LPs and 6,000 singles.

Individually, we would have probably have had to pay IR£ 39.000 for them, but collectively, we got them for one-quarter their value.

You need time to dispose of a collection properly.

Time - the most valuable thing (apart from health) you can have.

May we both have a lot of each!
