Subject: Question for Mr. Mathers - Chicory Tip

Message Detail:
Bob, a friend let me listen to a 1972 #1 UK hit "Son Of My Father", by Chicory Tip. Immediately, I liked it. Sort of like a song the group "Sweet" would perform. I bit Bubblegumish sound.

I ask myself, why wasn't it played on US Radio Stations. I gather it probably wasn't distributed over here. However, in your estimation, since you know a decent number of DJs, how many of them would play songs that THEY, not record charts, felt was good, regardless who performed it? On this end, I can only think of one, and that one is Jerry Blavat. Any others?

Thanks!

Best,
John
