If you're talking about the '80s as a whole I agree, but the first two years of the decade were dominated by what was left over from the '70s after disco died. A lot of bland soft rock, C&W crossovers, many hits by the "old veterans" of '60s and '70s Top 40 music--Paul, John, Stevie, Michael, Kenny (both of them), Diana, Barbra, Donna. And after all, you have featured countdowns and other top hits from 1980 recently. But let's make '81 the cutoff year. From '82 on belongs basically to another era. J
