Vee was most gracious to the fans who came to hear him perform. I came up to the event at the end of the day to meet Buddy for an early dinner and Bobby Vee was still sitting at a table talking with fans, signing autographs, posing for pictures, etc.

This was long after he had performed his last song of the day. The concert venue was outdoors at a parking lot in the center of Bel Air, and there was something very poignant about seeing Vee in person with his fans as the sun's shadows set over the scene.

Kind of reminded me of the days in Baltimore growing up in a blue-collar neighborhood feeling similar emotions when a Bobby Vee song came on the radio to brighten up a tough day.

I've never met the man. I could have that day but I was pressed for time and frankly I was getting a charge out of seeing the interaction between Bobby Vee and his adoring minions.

However, I feel I know him through his music (with a little help from the Johnny Mann Singers). My favorites are '1000 Eyes' and 'Charms'.

A great performer, and again gentlemen...your comments are enjoyable to read.
