You are so right - they are great bouncy happy songs. They sort of make you feel good - even on rainy days (of which we are getting a lot over here in Ireland right now). I even love his version of "Devil Or Angel" - it may not match the Clovers for soul, but it is a beautiful piece of pop.

He told me a long time back, that his favourite recording was "The Night Has A Thousand Eyes", followed by what I thought was an unusual one - a song called "The Opposite", which is actually a fine recording.

He is also a superb songwriter, and it was a shame that UA decided not to push the singer-songwriter album "Nothing Like A Sunny Day", which he brought out under his real name, Robert Thomas Velline. It stands the test of time.

He is also a real Buddy Holly expert - knows everything there is to know about him - can recite chapter and verse.

It is an absolute disgrace that he has waited so long to be included in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. He is so proud of the music - and he is a credit to it.
