Subject: RE: Who Created the term

Message Detail:
I am inclined to believe that someone saw me trying to get out of my son's sport car and said. "Now, there is a real oldie."

I can pretty much fall into the low to the ground car, but getting out is a bit more of a problem.

Big Band is just that, the 40s era mostly. Oldies was first used to describe 50s music to the 60s listeners.
It was first called Golden Oldies.

As far as I am concerned, the term may be used to describe
music that has decent lyrics, has a musical scale that is beyond the ability of today's three cord only musicians to perform. Oldies is "real" music.
