I use to work six nights in the clubs for $60.00 a week.
My agent got $12.00 of that. I made more money playing sessions in Memphis and Nashville. Usually got $35.00 for a session and was home before lunch. Good work if you can get it. But the hit records you played on were never your's.

For several years during the sixties I did manage to get a real nice $1000 a week playing the "better" clubs and got in on some really great concert work. Just memories now.

But the thing I wanted and never got was that Top 10
hit record. I finally gave up on it... seventeen years after I started. I became a club entertainer and that has lasted since 1968.

Oh well, what will be, will be, and what was.... was.
