Drove out to the Eastern Shore just to hear the Rewound (and soak up some rays). What most caught my attention this time was not a song, but a commercial featured in the 1968 Roby Yonge segment. It was the "Think Drink" coffee spot with its distinctive whistling jingle. In the late '60s you heard it everywhere on Top 40 radio and before long I was like, When are they gonna stop playing this consarned thing? You know what, though. I had COMPLETELY forgotten about it until yesterday. What a major memory-jogger. Apparently the ad was originally set up for the DJ to talk over the jingle (as in the WABC aircheck) but in the case of my hometown Top 40 station (WINX) they eventually decided it was more effective to just play the jingle without interruption, followed by "The preceding has been brought to you by coffee, the Think Drink. When you want to think things over, think it over....over coffee." WHAT a MEMORY-JOGGER! Jeff
