Hi Bill, Regarding the Super 'CFL 'impersonation'...I don't know what came over me with that one. All of those names you mentioned are legends from back in the day. WCFL and WLS certainly did have some epic battles. And some real titans of the turntable. Art Roberts and I communicated in the weeks prior to his passing. The former 'LS star's page remains on the site. Jerry Kay, or Kaye, also worked at WLS for a time. He I worked together on-air at 1150 AM KSPL in Seattle in 1982. That's where he was from, the Pacific Northwest. Paul Christy was a 'CFL guy. He consulted an FM station (KPLZ) where I worked here in Seattle back around that time. Management had all of us jocks come in to meet with him for a session on implementing his strategy. It's great that WLS (an ABC O&O) is doing this weekend exactly what WABC is doing in New York. Of course, WABC does oldies on a regular basis every Saturday night, running the old jingles and such. The era of Top 40 radio. What a time! Bob |
