Well now, you gotta watch the DC5.

Remember, they re-did Bobby Day's 'Over & Over' and instead of saying the original line, 'I went to a dance the other night, everybody there was stag'...they changed it to 'everybody there was there'. Dave Clark commented on that in an interview several years ago, alluding to the fact that the lyric was improvised on the spot by lead vocalist Mike Smith.

Even so...your observation is interesting (as always). I'll go back and check out both Marv Johnson and the DC5 on 'YGWIT'.
