John, your observations are on the mark. Mr. Blavat works through a different prism than his days in the 'Discophonic / Yon Teens' era. He still has the passion and love for the music, but probably has other responsibilities which preclude him from putting more into what he does. Even so, the Geator running on fumes can probably outrace a '10 in a row' drive jock any day. Why? Because he came up at a time when radio jockeys had to entertain. They were given a time slot and told by management...make it happen, or we'll find someone else. Today, jocks have it all laid out for them...playlist, when to talk, what to say, and how to say it. As far as contacting Dick Bartley, have you tried his website, www.dickbartley.com? And next time you call WVLT in Vineland, say hi to the man who was the first to put me on the air at a commercial radio station, midday guy Dave Fleetwood. Bob
