"Well, Bob, I think we finally stumped Mr. Liddane, on the Stokes vs Browne issue. I'm keeping my CDs! Mr. Liddane, my source for this information 100% accurate. You know why? Because that's what K-Tel wrote!!!!!! :-)"

Well if K-Tel say it is Betty Stokes - that must be correct. I did not even know that K-Tel had released an album by the Glories (my ignorance knows no bounds!).

I was going on the liner notes on the only album that I thought the Glories released, "The Poppies Meet The Glories" on Pavilion, which lists the members as Frankie Gearing, Dolores Brown and Mildred Vaney.

Also Bob Yorey, who produced the first single, listed "Vocals by Gearing, Vaney, Brown".

But weird thing is - the magazine "Soulful Kinda Music" now has a website, and on it, they list the Glories as having three members, but name them as Betty Stokes, J R Bailey, Kenny Williams!

http://members.tripod.com/SoulfulKindaMusic/members.htm

So how were J R Bailey (who had been lead singer with the Cadillacs), and Kenny Williams (who arranged for the Cadillacs) connected with the Glories?

Was it a later version of the same group? A different group? Or what?

My head is paining me and confusion (senility perhaps?) is definitely setting in.
