Due to local high-speed internet connectivity challenges, the streaming audio is temporarily down and will be restored soon. However, the UOR streaming audio itself will likely become a thing of the past on or before May 15th. The recent ruling by the Copyright Royalty Board requiring internet streaming stations to pay exorbitant royalties retroactive to 1/1/06 has effectively separated 'the men from the boys' and we along with many of our brethren will be saying sayonara with the 24/7 stream. HOWEVER...we plan to keep the on-demand audio shows available to site visitors for the foreseeable future. Our listeners have come for the most part for those programs as opposed to the 24/7 stream. Ultimate Oldies Radio has never really been about being a 'solid gold jukebox' anyway. Although many do enjoy it, including yours truly. I listen at work and it makes my day go much faster! The most popular aspect of UOR continues to be the people who come here and post, as well as the Listener Week shows. Along those lines, our venerable webmaster, the esteemed J. Matthew (just call me Jimmy) Williams has come up with a neat feature that we'll be adding in the next couple of weeks. We think you're gonna like it. Details to follow. Thanks, Bob |
