Jeff, interestingly enough I retrieved your email while listening to a Bread song. You not only know your music, you very accurately succeeded in setting the backdrop to a very transitional time of music. Man, I couldn't agree with you more. Consider that in the Summer of '70, both Bread and the Carpenters had their first big hits. By the following Summer, future superstars Carole King, Carly Simon, and James Taylor did the same. Much has been made of Elvis, the British Invasion, Disco, and other trends that changed the face of Top 40 radio. You've served notice that we should also acknowledge another change that has been all too frequently overlooked. Which, interestingly enough came at the beginning of a new decade.
