Hi John,

I admire you too. Not just for your love and knowledge of the oldies and the era, but also for your courage of convictions and your candid manner of speaking.

I agree with just about everything you stated. With one caveat. Christians and non-Christians have one thing in common.

We are all sinners, and not one of us is 'good'.

Christians can and sadly, do all the bad things that they preach against. Which, if you think about it...bears out the observation that Christ had to die to bear our sins, because nobody can escape sinning. We all have a sin nature. We all screw up.

We are our own worst enemy. That's true.

The easiest thing for you or I to do is point out the sins and failings of others, whether they be preachers, governors, popes, or presidents. But the Lord wants us to look into our own backyard first.

God says that 'No one is good, no, not one'. Therefore, no one is a good person.

The Lord knows it is normal for any of us to take a potshot at this one or that one and blame them for the injustices of the world. Like my father said when I came home from school and had some bad grades. When I tried to blame this one or that one for my subpar performance...he would say, 'I only care about YOUR report card, Sonny'.

Again, it's all about personal accountability.

That's why Christ died for us. By trusting in Him for our forgiveness of sins, we no longer have to face that lonely '1 on 1' personal accountability in eternity when we leave this world...although we certainly deserve to face it.

Instead, He offers us a personal relationship. With Him in heaven for all eternity.

It's the choice of each person to make. But before we can make it, we have to know why, who, and what. The Bible give us the answers.

'Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God'

David Ruffin and Johnny Johnson. Throw in a little Billy Harner and wouldn't THAT be a trio?

Thanks, John.

Bob
