Subject: RE: SIGNAL CORPS MAN FROM CHAMBERSBURG PA.

Message Detail:
There are listings of Federal Signal Corps personnel who
served during the American Civil War. To assist with the
man's identification, was Chambersburg his location in the
photo, or a pre- or post-war address? Are you certain of
his membership in the Corps? Was he enlisted or an officer?
The style in which he was uniformed, style of facial hair,
approximate age, etc., may also help. Also, what is the
history of the CDV?

Brown's Signal Corps in the War of the Rebellion has a
personnel listing in the back but, the addresses are all
postwar. With a little more info, we might be able to
assist you.
