Message Detail:
Q1: I would think that any signal party that would have occupied that station would have been part of the District of Washington.

Q2: I would think that Freedom Hill, west of Old Court-house run, or High Hill, across the Leesburg & Alexandria Turnpike from Eleven Mile Station, near the residence of the Widow Childs and northwest of Pimmit Run, may have been the most likely heights for the signal station to be erected. But this is but a guess on my part.

I don't know where the government communication tower now sits.

Detailed daily morning reports and other records pertaining to personnel detailed within the Department of Washington may be researched within Record Group (RG) 111 at (the National) Archives I on Penna. Ave, Washn City, Dist of Columbia.

Hope that helps.
