Subject: Aerial Telegraphy or Flag Signal'g vs. Wig-Wag

Message Detail:
Dave,

The only thing I can add to your line relative to the term "Wig Wag, to wit:

"gently lead any questioner away from the use of that term ... which was probably insulting to the first generation.", is:

... it WAS uttered to and maybe even picked up by the POST-WAR generation who FIRST heard the term "Wig Wag". There is no record of any of them EVER using the term DURING the conflict.

I'd love to be proven wrong but until I am.... I haven't, nor should any serious-minded individual who dons reproduction 19th century attire to offer a glimpse of what was said and done AT the time.

Use of capital added for, well, emphasis, not shouting.

Walt
PS What news of our period-attired 150th whirlygiggers?
