Subject: RE: Medical Corps Signals?

Message Detail:
Regarding medical supplies at Frederick after the battle of Antietam -- the Confederates had destroyed the railroad bridge over the Monocacy River so when the B&O RR sent medical supplies to AoP after Antietam the train loaded with them had to stop there. Letterman had to organize a medical wagon train to go from Sharpsburg to Monocacy to pick them up.

Today the U.S. Army's commodity manager for medical supplies is the U.S. Army Medical Materiel Agency, Fort Detrick, Frederick, Maryland. As a contractor I worked there on-site in '94-'96.
