Thanks Pete. I have what you refer to and therein lies the challenge. Letterman's reports are summary in nature and do not offer insight into how/when he made critical decisions during the course of a given battle. Regrettably, his descendants do not have anything beyond OR documents. Nor does the National Civil War Medicine Museum. So I'm "attacking it" through a side door, thinking perhaps another element of the AOP might have had a connection with the medical department that otherwise may not be readily apparent.
