Subject: Medical Corps Signals?

As a published author, I am writing a biography on Civil War surgeon Jonathan Letterman. I'm looking for info on whether the Signal Corps passed on medical/hospital info during Antietam, Chancellorsville, Fredericksburg, Gettysburg. He was the medical director for the Army of the Potomac. How medical directors received real-time battlefield info remains largely a mystery. Thank you for any info or research leads.
