Message Detail:
Might someone here on the Signal Forum have a couple of New York City Directories from the 1860's War Years? The reason for my asking is that these directories might show advertisements for the following NYC firms:

William W. Marston (a gun factory)
Twenty-first Street and Second Ave.

G.A. Lilliendahl (a fireworks mfg co)
No. 62 John Street

S.H. Condict & Co. (general manufacturer)

The first and last named firms manufactured army and navy signal pistols while Lilliendahl
made the cartridges.

I don't want to put you out if you'd have a hard time scanning the advertisements into cyber images. But if you could tell me the publisher of the book, year and page numbers, that would be enough to help me obtain the text and hopefully any accompanying line-art or fancy illustrations through inter-library loan that we might need for a Coston's Telegraphic Night Signal System project.

I had previously posted this on our sister forum at the New York board. I haven't had any bites to date so I thought I'd put the message up at our Signal Forum site.
Tnx ever so much for your consideration in this labor of love,

Walt Mathers
