Subject: RE: Gen'l Myer's Character
You say, "Greely would have been concentrating on the Mars landing"? I thought Sam Grant had put Old Mars our on the landing long before Adolphus got the idea. Just watching that landing.... What a day that must have been for Albert Jay!
This thread has been most enjoyable to your reader turned poster.
There is one thing I'd like to add about character. I can say this. Paul Scheips received his PhD from research on AJM but I assure you that Paul had no love loss for Old Probabilities and used phrases I care not to repeat here when making references to Albert.
I, on the other hand, understand how keenly focused Myer was on the mission (and the politics surrounding it). I'm just so glad that at least re-enactors have never had to contend with such drama and intrigue. ;)
