Subject: RE: Readying Our Lines for 150th Series

Message Detail:
Wow!!!Sounds like this could turn into an event with a lot of "Must-See!", "Would really like to be there !" & "Wish I could have made it!" for those who can't be there.!
I will put the word out to our U.S. Signal Corps members here in Illinois! I know many of us would be interested in participating/attending if able to make it!
We will be glad to give our input and help how we can in your planning.
One idea as to your plans for support/sponsorship/participation.
How about contacting any Active-Duty Army Signal Corps Units in the area, as well as the U.S. Army Signal Museum, at Ft. Gordon,GA for support & "tie-in"-events. (Wouldn't it be cool if they brought Myer's telescope, an original Beardslees/flags etc. for public-display on a nearby Army base?)
Also, if Walt can't find an offer to give those who attend accommodations on a nearby Military facility, then perhaps you could negotiate some discounted rates at a hotel centrally located to the planned events. Seems as an "Association" we could find that. If attendees were staying in one location-Events such as seminars, exhibits, etc. could be planned for there. It would also offer more chances to simply "Chew the fat" with our fellows about the SC.

We'll monitor this thread and look forward to hearing more about it.
