Good thinking, Walt -- and great idea. The area you suggest brings to mind the US sta on Fairfield mt., just west of Fredericksburg, and the CS stas on Schoolhouse Ridge (Bolivar/Harper's Ferry), Loudoun and Maryland Hgts (NPS), as well as the Sharpsburg/Antietam area...and Gettysburg area with associated sites (per Col. Bill Cameron's signal staff ride, parts 1 and 2). Harper's Ferry could make one possible rendezvous or central point for planning purposes. You'll recall the meeting and demos once offered at Fort Meade, Md., alongside the Balt-Wash Parkway at Md. Rte 32. site of the National Cryptologic Museum. This year the Center for Cryptologic History is holding its biennial two-day symposium in Laurel, Md., which means none next year (2010). That may offer an opportunity to offer a demo to include US intcpt and exploitation of CS signals, cryptography and security, deception, wire-tapping, etc., that might appeal to NSA, the National Cryptologic School, the Museum, and the NCM Foundation for sponsorship, aimed both at the general public and the civilian-military population affiliated with Ft. Meade. The nearby Wash, DC, area could offer Winder bldg, Fairfax seminary, Ft. Myer, Ft. Ward, Smithsonian, "Soldiers' Home." (Advance planning would be needed in light of scty considerations.)
