Message Detail:
In "MODERN TERMS" You must be able to WALK THE WALK if you gonna TALK THE TALK!

Fortunately the three signalists (myself included) were pretty seasoned and we were using a washed down preconcerted code that I made specifically for that day which was easily taped to the flagstaff making a 1-person signal party possible.

That was my unit at Gettysburg (145th) doing Signals on the CS side. We had over 20 signalists in camp and had 5 signal parties on the field.

The COOLEST thing we did at Gettysburg was on Thursday. We went to the park and signaled there. I was up on Little Round Top and another group (the die hard confederates) were down in Devil's den. We must've talked to over 300 spectators that day. VERY fun!

Again - if you have any questions - please dont hesitate to ask! There's NOTHING "New" under the SUN and we're here to HELP!

Sincerely,

John E. Schultz
