Subject: RE: Did General Warren Return to LRT on Deathbed?

Message Detail:
Indeed I too somewhat think that the Good General's final words would have probably been about the National standard instead of a signal flag waving over the Little Rocky Hill.

But then again... It would be interesting to note the exact date when the account of Signal Officer & Captain James S. Hall was made public (see: Brown p. 367).

Should it be revealed that Captain Hall's account had been published sometime prior to Warren's death in 1882, we could find ourselves back at square one. After all, knowing of such an account could actually have been quite haunting if Warren had known, reflected and dwelt upon it. It is not inconceivable that a small group of people might actually continue to debate the incident for centuries to come.

The above not withstanding, I'll change the subject -- Happy Flag Day! Big to dos later this day at Fort McHenry, birthplace of the "Star Spangled Banner" 3.3.3.
