Subject: Did General Warren Return to LRT on Deathbed?

Message Detail:

Hi Ray,

In response to yours of 09/21/2007 entitled: "ID'g Historical 1860's Military Communication Markers Could Become A Great Benefit" where you say:

"I chuckled when I read a copy of a letter written by Gen.Gouvernor K. Warren about 9 yrs after G'Burg concerning his exploits at LRT. He barely mentions the Signal Station there and implies he was the fellow who asked a Captain of a rifled battery to fire a shot into the woods where the enemy were hiding and how he was slightly wounded by a round sent in reply.

That's not the same version that Capt. Hall, SC recounted per Brown's comments in the book. Anyway, I am wandering away from the main thought of the post. You have an excellent idea and I hope all signal stations are marked and the signal soldiers given credit on both sides for what they did."

There may almost always be room for amends. I'd like to offer the following:

"The Flag, THE FLAG, Oh THE FLAG! ... supposedly were G.K. Warren's last words on his death bed, August 8,1882
