Hi Walt,
Although I am not a reenactor, read your post with great interest. Also, Pete's post. As a novice researcher in CW commo, I agree with your position. I would also point to the NPS initiative at G'Burg where a similar activity is taking place, but mainly to make the area appear as it did during the period of concern. It didn't, as far as I know, have anything to do with signaling. We have similar modern day problems with tree huggers in upstate NY who oppose the construction of public safety radio towers to provide better coverage. Their point is well taken and respected, although my view is different from their's. That's what makes America great. I think Pete's point about $$ is the bottom line and will ultimately determine what, if any action would be taken.
