Subject: RE: Anyone making these lanterns?

Message Detail:
The two lanterns on the OVCWA sites are not replicas from India. One is on display at the Signal Corps Museum and is from the period when kerosene was available. This would be just following circa 1859 for general use. Just following Drake's oil well technology. But not general issue as a fuel.

The other is from the time period prior to that and uses candles with spring feed. The candle diameter is larger than today's standard.

They are indeed plated with tin as were all from that time.

To make a statement otherwise without asking is typical of you Walt.
They are originals.
They are tin.
They work.
THEY ARE NOT MADE IN INDIA.
