Yes, the Beardslee notice also lists seizing wire in the inventory for splicing.

The wire was insulated with vulcanized rubber. Conrad Popenhusen of College Park, Long Island, New York was the most likely producer of the wire. This given his business relationship with George Beardslee and the fact that Conrad Popenhusen built the telegraph sets for Myer.
