DAVE,
THAT WAS AN INTERESTING COMMENT. DON'T KNOW WHERE I HEARD OR READ IT BUT SOMEHOW "25 WORDS" OR SO WERE CONSIDERED AVERAGE MSG. HOW DID I COME BY THAT? DON'T REALLY KNOW. PRO SIGNS AND OTHER ABBREVIATIONS CERTAINLY WOULD HELP AS YOU STATED. WHEN SPEAKING TO CW RT GROUPS, SOME FOLKS ALWAYS LOOK AT YOU LIKE YOU HAVE TWO HEADS WHEN TALKING ABOUT SIGNALING FIVE OR TEN MILES BY FLAG LINE OF SIGHT. THE EXPERIMENTAL STAGE IN THE FALL FROM SANDY HOOK TO FT. HAMILTON WAS ABOUT 10-15 MI. I BELIEVE AND EPA AND MYER DID NOT HAVE ANY TROUBLE DAY OR NIGHT EXCEPT FOR WX OR PASSING SHIPS, I BELIEVE. VERY INTERESTING.
