Subject: Civil War Camp at Pamplin makes Newspaper!!!
Just thought I'd share this with you.
Back in January Capt. Scott Dailey and I went up to Pamplin Park to train their staff how to do Signals. The purpose of this training was for them to offer the folks at their Civil War Camps this summer how to DO signals.
As they've figured, SIGNALS is something that the run of the mill folks can put their hands ON and DO without worrying about handling guns and such while still doing something period AND it's very interesting.
A quote from the article linked below in The Richmond Times Dispatch says, "We learned to send signals by flags in daylight and torches by night. We went to bed in our bunks to the sound of "Taps" and awoke at dawn to "Reveille." Spilman also played the harmonica for us around the campfire. We followed orders. Mostly."
I'm glad they put to good use what they were taught.
Please read the linked article below and enjoy!
