![]() Subject: History Channel's |
All, I've been watching with interest this week on the History Channel. Monday was the CSS Albermarle which was excellent because we participated in the annual reenactment at Plymouth. Tuesday they showed the great train chase and I knew the Yankee who stole the train very well. Tonight's "Civil War Tech" covered Communications to a small extent. Other than completely missing the revolutionary Myer system of flagging, they used completely improper Telegraph keys and all but said that Telegraph was used in a "Tactical-Battlefield" sense. You can also tell that those sending were not REALLY experienced morse operators. They 'banged' the key and didn't have the 3 finger grip. They also pictured a KOB and Relay's were nowhere in site. They made sure they talked about the Government's Railroad system but completely forgot about the USMT. What a shame..............
