Subject: A Civil War Signal Canteen?

Message Detail:
Chuck,

Nice Cyber Agent work. Just because it happens to be copper doesn't necessarily make it signal corps material. It looks more like a foot or even a food warmer to me. Seems as if someone decided to stick a wick in it's spout and call it a signal canteen, as in 'stuck a feather in his hat and called it Macoroni.'

Unless someone like Max Zurko or Dave Gaddy can prove this item otherwise, I'd say that copper is going for about $10.50 a pound these days.;)

Mr. Gaddy can offer some tales about E-bay claims of Confederate signal items (if I recollect rightly) and has done so already on this very forum.

Thank you for bringing this item to light for our many forum readers. Entries such as yours show that we're play'g heads-up at our cyber-posts and perhaps more folks will alert and willing to discuss similar items as they learn about our venue. Tell your associates about our forum. We could use their input.

Walt
