Subject: Pre-war Ballooning History

Message Detail:
Walt, might check with the folks at the little museum at the historic College Park (MD) airport to see if they have any info in re Bladensburg/ Anacostia area.

Recently, following up on references to Buffalo Springs, VA in "Come Retribution," I've come across a ref to ballooning as a diversion/entertainment in and around the year 1858: "one [ascension] at least was performed by a Mr. Patton." Location is close to the VA/NC border in Montgomery County, VA.
