Subject: From Telegraphs to Torpedoes to Lumps of Coal

Message Detail:
Say Bobby,

I was going to ask you if you wanted to come East to put in a little time on the coal-fired steam tugboat BALTIMORE but after your intimation of "Mike... [being]... given permission to make a mold of Jefferson Davis' Courtney Coal Torpedo" I'm not so sure your coming East would be such a good idea now.

Tnx for posting all of the info on your Fort McAllister event coming up next month. Some of our folks in that region ought to avail themselves of our presentation.

We're really touched by your kind words about the forum postings which introduced you to studying infernal machines. It just goes to disprove one of Jeff Davis' contemporaries who said:

"The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here..."

Hummm... the name of that fellow somehow 'almost' escapes me.

Best Regards,
Walt
PS Tnx if you used the search feature to look up the words Courtney - coal or torpedo. Works like a charm every time ;)
