Subject: Keeping Track of On-The-Field Signal Parties, More Concerning
You couldn't be more on-track (as a rail roader might put it). It didn't have to happen. It is much like the Medical Emergency Code. Some of us will either rise to accept greater responsiblity or we must understand that it will be taken away from us and given to others. In some cases already, over-all commanders will pat signallists on the head, tell them what a nice job they are doing and then turn to the fellow carrying the radio to ask what's up.
We may not convince many detachment commanders or even some aspiring CSO's that they are making big mistakes by not using an up-to-the-event signature code , or even having their flag parties carry a number controlled Medical Emergency code, but at least the rank and file will soon know that their leadership's lack thereof may be a contributing factor as to why they may be on the verge of becoming side tracked, or in a sporting way - side-lined.
So much to do... but hey! I once heard someone cal this a hobby. Heavy Hobby. But Rewarding as all get-out.
Nice Post Pete. Like those OR reports too.
