![]() Subject: Re: Endview Plantation Civil War Event. |
As Chief Signal Officer of the 18th Corps I have the honor to post the following Signal Guidelines for the Endview event, March 20, 21st. 1: All signal officers shall report to the chief signal officer upon arrival and shall supply a roster of their detachment. 2: As the event is commemorative of the Battle of Mechanicsville 1862, all signalmen shall tailor their uniforms and impressions accordingly to portray members of the Army of the Potomac. Particular attention shall be paid to anachronistic signal insignia. There should be no late or post war insignia worn, nor any hatpins on headgear. The only insignia authorized by this command shall be simple crossed flags worn on either the left or right sleeve. There shall be no torches in the insignia. 3: As there is no evidence as yet that there were any female signalmen, no female shall take the field in any signal capacity except that she conduct herself as a man, and shall not be detectable as a woman upon cursory inspection. 4: No-one under the age of 16 shall be allowed on the field in any signal capacity. 5: All signal personnel shall conduct themselves in proper military fashion at all times, and shall accord all military honors as proscribed in the Army Regulations, 1861. Any questions or concerns may be addressed to the Chief Signal Officer prior to the event. |
