![]() Subject: RE: A FEW ISSUES FOR THE REENACTOR SIGNAL CORPS COMMUNITY |
Dave you have some really good points. I think it is important to have a better understanding of how both sides conducted signals. I find it sometimes easy to adjust things a little in the field and I often wonder if I am doing it right. Going back to the original message, I think it would be nice to have a resource that explains how it works in modern terms. The publication would have to be written by one person or a small group of people. If we tried to do some kind of large group thing, we would argue more than agree. General flagging skill is not a problem, I think. It is deploying and using the signal party in a efficent and productive way is where people run across problems. I'm use to being in small re-enactments where we have 2 to 4 parties in the field. I find whene we get close in the signals become ineffective. I often wonder if there is a better way to run close range signals. In conclusion, I think, if we did do some kind of camp of instruction or a publication it would be more benifical to go over living history, and tactics. Cpt.Mark Palermo |
