Subject: Hickory signal poles being made

Message Detail:
Hi.
Walt Mathers has just informed me that the first proto type tapered hickory signalpoles joints are being finished up.He visited with the wood turner this evening.Once completed these first two sets will be supplied to the War Department (A.K.A. Defense Dept.at the Pentagon), as part of a signal flag wall display.

Our wood turner seems quite taken with our flag pole project and has already supplied himself with an ample supply of hickory. Walt will be checking with a few boat suppliers in Annapolis, MD for brass tubing.

Once the prices for the hickory, the turning, the brass tubing and the packaging/mail costs can be known, We will then have a ball park figure of price to pass on.

More news as it arrives.
