Subject: RE: Thomas J. Gould Company I 16th Maine

Message Detail:
Tom Gould was immortalized by his sons Frank and Ralph, Frank's son,John and his daughter, Mary's son, Ralph in their books, A Maine Man in the Making (Franklin Gould), Yankee Boyhood (Ralph Gould) and Fields of Home (Ralph Moody). These books contain a lot of anecdotal information about Tom and his family. Next move would be to obtain his service and military pension records from the National Archives. The pension record should be rich in information as Tom was diagnosed with service connected malaria not long after the war.
