Subject: Just identified a relic from William R. Bean. Need a little more information of him.

Message Detail:
While Digging in Spotsylvania County, I came across a Shoulder scale with the soldiers name inscribed on the backside of the brass cup and also the holder. William R. Bean fought in the 7th Battery of the Maine Light Artillery, and was wounded just a few hundred yards from where I found the epaulette. This is one of Burnsides brigades, 3rd Division. If anyone has anymore information that I can add to the background of William, I would be much obliged.

Thanks, Dave
