I'm coming late to this conversation. Sorry. I'm interested though. I see from Marilyn Burgess' posts that it seems unlikely that the State will do much to celebrate. In better times I think they might be more likely to lend some support to a citizen effort. That said, however, they do have the info if one is willing to dig. What I really like is the idea of supplementary info - who's who, buried where, town CW data, regiments/men connected to the monument town. A lot of this is already compiled in the late 19th century and some 20th century town histories. I betcha we could get the local historical societies to give us some input as well. This book/site could be an important compilation of info if we do it right.
