My G-G-Grandfather fought in the 16th Maine, CO. D. He was Milton Walker Chapman from Bethel, Maine.
There ia a book called The Blanket Brigade by Cyndi Dalton, Union Publishing, Union, ME.04862. It is Volumn II, Maine Sixteenth Regiment,
ISBN 0-9642029-2-1

It is a detailed account of the battles, officers,enlisted, and letters to and from some of the spouses. It's interesting!
