MR. W. H. WOODCOCK, O'Connell Street, S.A., was born at North Adelaide i n 1854.
After finishing his education he worked with his father, a butcher in bus iness for seventeen or
eighteen years, the latter part of the time as manager in Rundle Street , it being the principal
shop in the town. He afterwards bought a large shop in O'Connell Street , North Adelaide, and
started, in conjunction with his brother, in the butchering business, th e business being second
to none in the colony. Mr. Woodcock has also a farm of zoo acres, which h e uses for grazing
purposes, and runs a number of cattle and sheep.

business was established by Mr. Woodcock some seven years ago, changing h ands to Mr.
Hooper, and finally came into the possession of the above. The house i s a good, two-storey,
stone structure, with lofty and well-ventilated rooms. The premises occup y some half-acre of
land, with a frontage to the main street of about 70 feet. This house i s one of the best built
in this well-known suburb Mr. Nottage is a native of South Australia, an d received his
education in the colony.
